within the industries of film, theater, television, dance, opera, and fashion is central to Sewing Hope’s mission.  The creative efforts of this dynamic community support the life-sustaining work being done in Uganda. The first Sewing Hope fashion event was held on February 24, 2008.  Seventeen fashion and costume designers were asked to contribute one garment inspired by fabric brought from Uganda.  This amazing celebration of African culture provided one-hundred fifty guests with the opportunity to learn about Sewing Hope’s work in Uganda and network with industry professionals.
